Within the framework of keenness of the university on enhancing the role of youth in achieving sustainable development and shaping their future, Faculty of Computer and Information organized an awareness symposium titled, “Enhancing Presidential Initiatives and National Projects”. It was held under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussein, Acting Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Acting Faculty Dean.
The symposium was attended by Dr. Omnia Al-Barbary, Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Osama Ghoneim, Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research. It was lectured by Dr. Abdel Fattah Allam, from the National Center for Social & Criminological Research, and Mr. Samir Mehanna, Undersecretary of Ministry of Media in Middle and East Delta.
For his part, Faculty Dean emphasized the faculty’s commitment to intensifying and implementing various awareness and educational symposiums for students to strengthen their sense of belonging and combat ideas that contradict the tolerant religious beliefs and the authentic cultural and societal heritage of the Egyptian people.
On one hand, Mr. Samir Mahna explained the importance of presidential initiatives and their focus on youth, as they represent the largest segment of society. He also highlighted the dangers of rumors that aim to spread negativity and harm the nation’s security, stressing the importance of youth awareness to understand the hidden motives behind these false rumors, which aim to create a generation that lacks loyalty to its homeland.
On the other hand, he urged students to obtain information from reliable sources to prevent manipulation of ideas presented to youth.
During the speech he delivered, Prof. Abdel Fattah Allam highlighted that the presidential initiatives are pivotal and illuminating milestones within society. These initiatives reflect the political leadership's commitment to achieving transformative changes and building the Egyptian individual in terms of health, social well-being, and education, while embedding the concept of social justice by adopting comprehensive protection policies. These policies aim to alleviate the burdens on citizens, provide support to all segments of society, enhance quality of life, and invest in human capital to achieve sustainable development. He emphasized that social, economic, and political development cannot be achieved without genuine human development.
