Students from Faculty of Computer and Information at Tanta University achieved a new milestone by winning first place with their project, “Baseera Guardian AI” at Damietta Hackathon, held as part of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovation (ICIAAI 2026) at Damietta University.
   The conference was organized under patronage of Prof. Abdul Aziz Qonsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Hemdan Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University. The event was attended by M.G./ Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and Prof. Wa’el Awad, Dean of Faculty of Computer and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University and President of the Conference.
   Faculty of Computer and Information at Tanta University was represented by Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Faculty Dean, and Dr. Ayda Nasr, Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology, who attended the event to support and encourage the participating students, whose outstanding performance earned them first place in the hackathon.
The winning team included:

   During the conference, the team presented “Baseera Guardian AI” an innovative artificial intelligence platform designed to enhance digital safety for families and children. The project received high praise from the judging panel for its innovative approach to digital security and family protection.
   The platform leverages artificial intelligence to analyze patterns of digital behavior and predict potential online threats before they occur, while maintaining users' privacy. Unlike traditional monitoring solutions, Baseera Guardian AI emphasizes cybersecurity awareness through interactive educational methods and incorporates a reward-based incentive system that encourages children to develop safe digital habits and take greater responsibility for their use of technology.
   This achievement reflects the commitment of the faculty to nurturing talented students, supporting innovation, and encouraging participation in scientific competitions and academic events. It also highlights the University dedication to preparing graduates capable of developing innovative technological solutions that serve society and contribute to Egypt's digital transformation agenda.
